Mission Statement:
Jeffrey A. Johnson, CFA is the founder and principal of Cornerstone Investment Associates, LLC and he works with a number of economic, financial, legal and technical associates to provide education and objective advice related to investments and financial planning. Cornerstone brings institutional-level expertise into the retail investment decision-making process. Jeff also provides one-on-one meetings within the Twin Cities region based on time availability. Cornerstone exists partly as a labor of love, and partly to give back. Cornerstone seeks to bring a Christian perspective into our money and stewardship decisions to help achieve short-term, intermediate-term and long-term investment returns. We also believe that some investment and stewardship commitments can produce eternal returns. The Cornerstone operating model seeks to provide value for users, and we hope that the value derived from this web site will be paid forward. So, instead of paying a fee or a subscription to Cornerstone, I recommend donations to charities that are above and beyond your normal charitable giving. Some favorite charities are MN Adult and Teen Challenge, Habitat for Humanity, and World Vision.
Cornerstone: The Cornerstone name is based on a number of factors. First, we like the image of a cornerstone that provides a solid base for investing. We also believe that a cornerstone is necessary in a world with a fire hose of information that provides a deluge without necessarily adding value. Finally, there are a number of biblical scripture passages related to Cornerstone as follows:
-Isaiah 28:16-See I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.
-Ephesians 2:20-with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone,
-1 Peter 2:6. “a chosen and precious cornerstone, …The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone.”
